2018 has been a great year here at Becki Williams Photography with so many newborns coming through my doors for their first photo shoot.
I offered new types of mini shoots, digital backgrounds, new ways to purchase your images and some BIG competitions.
So what are my plans for 2019?

Her mummy knew she was having a c-section so we were actually able to book her shoot in on a certain day and keep it there, which doesn't happen very often when you're working with unpredictable newborns!
With a full tummy and toasty warm room, my run of perfectly sleepy babies continued as she slept from beginning to end without any fuss.

This is my 6th twin photo shoot and it's never any less special!
The twins arrived at 26 weeks and spent around 2 months in hospital before being allowed home. I got to meet them at at around 3 months old, at which point they still hadn't reached their due date!
Charlie was small and Alice even smaller but they were happy and healthy and ready to be photographed.

I was about 7 at the time, while he was 11 and best friends with my brother.
Alas it wasn't meant to be and he is now happily engaged and has just welcomed his second son, Kellen, into the world.
Toby & Jake live with their mum and dad a few doors down from our house. They love saying hello to Jess the dog, showing me whatever new toy they have or just telling me something random about their day.
For the majority of 2017, the big news was that they were about to become big brothers. And they were excited!
Read MoreThe ideal time for a newborn to be photographed is between 5 & 10 days but I do offer posed photo shoots to babies up to three weeks. I might not get as many sleepy posed photos at 3 weeks but it all depends on the baby - some still sleep like a dream!

You do not have to hold a naked baby if you're not interested in playing 'pee roulette'. Instead we can use a nice neutral blanket (or colourful, it's your choice!) and wrap your little one up nice and snug.
Thank you SO MUCH to all the lovely families that have put their faith in me to capture images of their bumps, newborns and babies over the last year. I've met some amazing people, some of which have become good friends and I can't wait to continue photographing your families into the future.

You're careful not to start buying things too early (you know, apart from that little outfit that you just couldn't leave behind) and you wait longingly for each scan to see that little face one more time and the reassurance that everything is a-ok.

One minute you're 22, at Uni and your housemate is throwing Maoam at you down the corridor. Next thing you know, you're in your 30s and you're photographing their newborn son.
I first met this little family back in 2015 when they had their first son Casper.
I travelled to their house in St. Albans for their session where little Casper played hard ball and did not want to settle. He wasn't having the happiest of days so in the end I decided it would be best if I went away and tried again another day.
In the end his parents got a lovely gallery of images to choose from of both awake and sleepy images.
There is something extra special about doing newborn baby pictures for family. And yes, bragging rights that you got cuddles before other members of the family is definitely a bonus!
