Sometimes children go to different schools so can’t get a school photo together. Other times you excitedly receive the proofs from photo day to discover that they’re pulling your least favourite false smile, the hair you spent ages doing that morning resembles some kind of birds nest or they’ve managed to spill lunch down their front.Read More
These adorable sisters have been coming to me for Photo Shoots ever since Skye was a baby and her big sister Sophia was quiet and shy.
Fast forward a couple of years and you have yourself two little, talkative cheeky monkeys. I say that, but they are also two of the politest children I've ever photographed and I look forward to every single shoot with them.Read More
And so Bluebell Photo Shoots are over for another year!
We got off to a rocky start this year when the late snow meant that Spring was delayed by about 2 weeks. Mix in some rainy weekends and everything was a bit up in the air.Read More
1. Find good light
Early morning or just before sunset is the best time for the best light. The sun is low and a lovely golden colour. It's also softer so you won't get as harsh shadows as at midday.Read More
I first met the Hayward family back in 2015 when their son Harry was born. They had a relaxed photo shoot in their home, which included a few studio style photos with Harry and then some relaxed family images.
I was VERY excited to hear when Harry's little sister had arrived and we arranged to do a similar style shoot.Read More
The best thing about photographing family is that it's more like a day out rather than work. I can try things and happily admit when they don't work and at the end you get to hang out, practice cartwheels and eat ice-cream. (Unfortunately I was too full from ice-cream for the cartwheels otherwise obviously I would have joined in...)Read More
This year I held Summer Mini Photo Shoots in Hemel Hempstead on the Nickey Line.
I call them 'summer', but I actually got so busy with Newborn shoots in the Spring that they ended up taking place on the last two weeks of August (whoops).
Thankfully we completely lucked out on the weather and had beautiful sunshine on both days (similar to last year so maybe they're lucky!)
Photographing a newborn once is lovely, but getting to see them grow up is even more special.
I first met Alfred and his family 2 years ago at their house in Hemel Hempstead. He was only a few days old and a teeny tiny bundle compared to the little boy he is now!Read More
“We couldn’t recommend Becki highly enough - she was brilliant with our daughter who was instantly relaxed around her meaning we got amazing natural photographs that we are so happy with. She captured her personality perfectly. The photos and canvases are such high quality and we will definitely be using her again for baby number 2!”

Just over a year ago I met Scarlett, a teeny tiny little newborn girl in Hemel Hempstead.
At only a few days old, she was a gorgeous little newborn model and I spent a few hours with her family getting a mixture of sleepy posed photos and more relaxed family photos.
Their conservatory was full of the most gorgeous natural light and was the perfect spot for cuddles and sleepy warmth.
April 2017 - The Adventure
Life as a 1 year old is one big adventure. Every door must be opened, every stair climbed and every raised surface fallen off of. It's a time of constant curiosity.
It is also a time of throwing routine out the window whenever you fancy it, which is what happened in Isla's case.Read More
Abby's family were bought a gift voucher for three sessions, which they decided to use at 4 months, 8 months & 1 year.
Time has flown by, as it has a habit of doing, and a few weeks ago I completed Abby's last session.
For this session, Abby's family decided to turn it into a family photo shoot, including her mum, dad and two big sisters.Read More
Newborn Photo Shoot - sleepy cuteness!
I first met Harper for her newborn photo shoot around 8 months ago. She was the perfect little sleepy model and we got a selection of gorgeous images - I mean, how cute is the image below?! And that hair!!
8 month Session - wriggles and bum shuffles
As usual time disappeared in the blink of an eye and it was time for Harper's next milestone session. I headed to their house and we got some gorgeous lifestyle family images as well as shots of Harper by herself.
I do sessions in all kinds of houses and every now and then I fall in love. Beautifully decorated, loads of space and gorgeous sunlight - this house is a dream!
I first met the Montgomery family before they even became the Montgomery family back in September 2015.
There was talk of a wedding but the main focus at that time was the little bump that was soon to arrive.
The Maternity Session
The majority of their session took place at their house in High Wycombe (which is one of the most hilly places i've ever been!)Read More
Every Wednesday I have the very important job of collecting my niece Rosie from school.
It generally involves a trip to Sainsburys for some kind of snack or magazine and then home to watch The Worst Witch and pretend we work in a cafe/school/dance academy.
She quite happily spends the couple of hours we have together jumping around my house, flinging herself off of furniture with one main rule - Don't Hurt Yourself!
We have worked with Becki a number of times and have always found her shoots to be relaxed and enjoyable. She provides a wonderful variety of images to choose from and always has great ideas and props! We look forward to working with her again!

I first met Thomas and his family in April when I did his newborn session at their house in Hemel Hempstead when he was just a few days old.
As usual, time has gone ridiculously fast and a couple of weeks ago I headed back to photograph his next milestone session.
When I first walked into their house it was great to see a large framed print of the above image hanging in their dining room. They also have smaller prints dotted around the house, in their bedroom and his nursery. Much better than a USB stuck inside a drawer!
When ever I send emails to my clients letting them know what to expect from their session I also express my love for vests and nakedness!
There's nothing quite like the podge of a 6 month old and I dare you not to smile at that little naked bottom!!!
We got some really lovely family images at their last session so it was important to me to make sure I captured some more now that Thomas has grown up a little.
I love a relaxed look to these photos so I encourage cuddles and playtime while I wander around and capture the smiles.
He may have only just been mastering the art of sitting but he certainly looks like he's got in down in this image!
I love that you can a picture of him as a newborn with his mum and dad in the background.
Sessions with babies around 6 - 8 months are really just TONS of fun!
I encourage singing, dancing and just pure silliness to help get those beautiful natural grins. And no, you don't have to be self conscious because I will be singing and dancing right there with you!
If you have any questions or are interested in me
taking your babies pictures then please...
When Jame's family were searching for a lifestyle newborn photographer in Hemel Hempstead I'm so glad they came across my website.
James was a little older than the usual 5 - 10 day olds that I photograph in a posed session but was the perfect age for some relaxed lifestyle photos with his mum and dad.
We started upstairs in their beautiful bedroom where the summer sun was shining in through their large windows.
I laid James down on the bed and captured all those tiny details that won't stay tiny for long!
Elliot's family got in touch recently to arrange for me to come and take some family and baby pictures for them.
I prefer to take family photos in my clients home as the lifestyle fashion of photography means that their surroundings will be in the background of the photos. I think it's so much nicer to see your home in your photos rather than a studio backdrop.
I like to think that in the future they will look back at their photos and remember things about their lives at that time. 'Remember when we lived there' 'That was before this or that happened' etc.
The window light in their living area was perfect and made for the beautifully lit images.
As well as family images, I captured a few images of Elliot by himself. There is no posing at this age and things are kept nice and simple. Just look at those eyes! <3
Rather than just buy digitals, they decided to purchase lots of lovely prints to hang on their walls and give to family.
I hope they enjoy their images for many years to come!
