If you’ve found your way here I can only assume you’re expecting, in which case - Congratulations!

I can’t wait to photograph you and your gorgeous bump!

My Maternity Photo Shoots are all about me helping you remember this special time of your life.   What matters most is that together we capture images that you can treasure forever.
As a maternity photographer, I pride myself in my photo shoots being very relaxed. We can put on some music, have fun and take as many breaks as you need. It’s not just about the photos you receive at the end but the experience as a whole.

When is the best time to book?

Maternity photo shoots can be booked anytime after your 12 weeks scan. The best time for them to take place is before your bump has dropped and when you’re still quite comfortable moving around. This is generally around 30 - 35 weeks but that does depend on any health issues, whether you’re expecting multiples etc. There are no ‘rules’ so just use this as a ballpark and we can work around what’s best for you.

What should I wear?

On the run up to your shoot I can help you decide the best outfits to wear - feel free to send me pictures and we can discuss what works best.
Whether you want to stay covered and show off your bump through floaty or bodycon dresses, bare all and get down to your underwear or anything in between, we can plan the perfect Maternity Photo Shoot for you. I suggest aiming for 2-3 outfits total.
Some women choose to get their nails done (your hands will feature in the images a lot) and others go full out and get their hair and make-up done before arriving as well. It’s completely up to you.

Frequently Asked Questions about Maternity Photo Shoots

  • Maternity photo shoots can be booked any time after your 12 week scan and generally take place when you’re 28-35 weeks pregnant. If you have any medical issues or if you’re expecting multiples we can always bring that forward.

The goal is for your bump to be nice and large but for it to have not dropped yet and for you to still be able to move around quite well.

  • Maternity Photo Shoots take place at my home studio in Emerson Valley, Milton Keynes, which has off street parking right outside. I have two adjoined, dedicated rooms with a comfortable seating area and a photographing area.

There is also a very large bathroom, which is perfect for getting changed in.

  • I always suggest getting your nails done as your hands will feature a lot in the photos but the rest is completely up to you. Some women treat it as an excuse to pamper themselves and go all out and others prefer to do things themselves. You’ll want to feel your best on the day.

  • Of course! Partners and children are always welcome to be included in some of your photos.
Similarly, if it’s just you - that’s absolutely fine.

  • There are lots of different types of Maternity Photographers around Milton Keynes.

The best thing to do is to look through their work and see which you love the most. Maybe it’s studio style with big dresses, maybe you want them in your own home or perhaps you want to head outside.

I offer simple, studio style photo shoots and occasionally offer outdoor maternity photo shoots as well. Please just ask if you have any questions about whether I am the right photographer for you.

  • Yes! Anyone who books a Maternity Photo Shoot receives 10% off of any Newborn Digital Package once they have viewed their newborn images.

  • Your body is going through a lot and it’s understandable if you’re feeling a bit nervous about getting in front of the camera.

If there is something in particular that’s concerning you, let me know when you book and I can explain how we can work together to tackle your fears.

Sometimes that’s through clothing choice, posing, lighting or editing.

  • On the run up to your shoot I can help you decide the best outfits to wear - feel free to send me pictures and we can discuss what works best.

Whether you want to stay covered and show off your bump through floaty or bodycon dresses, bare all and get down to your underwear or anything in between, we can plan the perfect Maternity Photo Shoot for you. I suggest aiming for 2-3 outfits total.

  • Around two weeks after your Newborn Photo Shoot I will upload your images to an private, passworded online gallery where you can view your images in your own time. The gallery is live for 2 weeks for you to place your order.

  • You’ll notice me taking lots of photos during your Maternity Photo Shoot. Each time I will be adjusting camera settings, lighting, positioning and posing. After your shoot I will go through and select the best 25-30 images, which I will edit and upload to your online gallery.

RAW, unedited images are not available to view, purchase or have for free.

  • I try to get your images as perfect in camera as possible but there is generally always some editing to be done.

That can include extending and smoothing backdrops but can also include subtle edits to clothes, skin and hair.

Generally I gently smooth skin, reduce stretch marks and round out the shape of your bump if needed. If you’d like me to leave your stretch marks in or reduce them heavily, please let me know on your booking form.

If there is something you think will bother you in your images, I’d much rather know in advance so that I can use posing, lighting and clothing to make sure you love the final result.

  • I will only share your images online if you give me permission. If not, they will be kept private.

  • If your baby surprises you and arrives before your maternity shoot, any amount you have paid can be transferred to either a newborn photo shoot booking fee or if you have already paid that, can come off your chosen newborn digital package.
