What does a new year mean? New goals!
Here is what I have planned for Becki Williams Photography in 2018.
When it comes to posed newborn photo shoots, I have quite a natural style. Give me my posing beanbag, a few wraps and a couple of hats or headbands and I am good to go. Although I have a couple of bowls and baskets I generally keep things simple, just like with little Oliver above.
This year I'd like to experiment with new props, styles and themes by inviting newborn babies into my studio for Model Calls, where I get to try out new set ups and they get some beautiful free images.
If you're due in 2018 and would like to help me with a stylised shoot, please Get In Touch!
I LOVE writing. When I was a child it was all I ever wanted to do. And now alongside photographing tiny humans, I get to write to my hearts content on my blog.
I already upped my blogging game over the last year and in 2018 I want to take it further. As well as writing about photo shoots and the amazing stories of babies journeys into the world, I also want to write about parenting, the local area, photography and my own life.
My favourite blog of the year was all about how I became a photographer and includes some lovely embarrassing images of me as a child. If you'd like to read it, you can do so Here.
Before I was a photographer I was a video editor and i've carried it on as a hobby along side my photography.
This year I want to look into producing more videos, showing you what goes on behind the scenes as well video birth announcements.
Lifestyle Newborn Photo Shoots
As much as I love my posed newborn photo shoots, I'd also love to increase the amount of relaxed, lifestyle shoots I do. Instead of you coming to my home, I travel to you and take relaxed photos of your new family around your house. Cuddles on the sofa, the first bath, the moses baskets, the cards - I want to capture it all.
I have thought about running competitions for the last couple of years now but am yet to do it. This year will be the year so keep an eye on my Facebook Page for more information.
Document my every day
This year I am setting myself the challenge to start taking photos of my every day life.
The other day I wasn't very well and I had a bowl of hot water ready to steam my face (exciting, I know...) The sun was streaming through the window and the steam was billowing out in the rays. It was really pretty and I did think about getting my camera and taking a picture...but I didn't.
So this year I am challenging myself to carry my camera around more and actually capture those moments.
I'll have more details in a blog coming very soon!
Photography & Business Training
Owning your own business is a non stop journey of education. From new photography skills, health & safety, marketing & websites, there are always new things to learn.
In 2017 I went on a Baby First Aid course with the British Red Cross and researched a lot more into marketing.
I am guilty of buying a few courses and subscribing to a few learning resources which I am yet to make the most of so in 2018 I'll be dusting off the books and making sure I use the courses I have purchased.
