It feels like only yesterday I was photographing Roman at his Newborn Photo Shoot and now he’s turning one!

It’s always a pleasure to photograph this lovely family (something I’ve been doing for many years now) so when they booked a Birthday Photo Shoot for Roman I was very excited.

I offer two types of photo shoot when a baby turns 1 years old - A Cake Smash and a Birthday Photo Shoot.
A Cake Smash is like a big sensory play session where they get to smash up a birthday cake and get really cute photos at the same time. A Birthday Photo Shoot is similar, but without the cake and mess and all the family can get involved.

Roman’s family decided to book a Birthday Photo Shoot so that they could update their family photos at the same time.

The family photos were taken on a dark grey backdrop as that’s what they had at older son Rocco’s first birthday as well. I LOVE Roman’s cheekiness throughout those photos.

For his birthday photos, his mum chose a simple green set up with silver stars. We played with balloons and paper puffs. We sang and we danced and he had a great time!
