Over the last few years it feels like my extended family has doubled in size!

My brother and quite a few cousins have had their second, third and even fourth babies and I get the absolute pleasure of photographing them (and therefore beating a lot of people to first cuddles!)

This is little Zak, my first cousin once removed (that’s my cousins baby) and little brother to Nate. I was so excited when they asked me for newborn photos (any family reading, the answer is always yes!) and his newborn photo shoot date came around in no time.

Zak was the perfect mixture of awake and asleep at his newborn shoot. He slept soundly while I positioned him in all the cute, curled up newborn positions and even flashed me his gorgeous grin.
When awake, his beautiful eyes had a thousand yard stare into the distance.

Capturing these moments for new parents to treasure is such a privilege. The newborn stage is so short and passes so quickly that each little memory captured in a photo is so extremely precious.
