Charlotte’s newborn photo shoot really was amazing.

She was the perfect amount of asleep and awake, at all the right times.

We started with photos of her and her mummy, which she slept soundly through. I ADORE these images and know she will treasure them when she grows up.

I then moved her onto a soft, white, fluffy blanket so I could get photos for images in the large props like the bed, pink bowl and basket. These are ‘digital backgrounds’, which means I photographed her on a simpler blanket and then Photoshoped her into the large props. It’s a great way to get a variety of beautiful photos without moving her around too much and opens up the possibility of so many more backdrops and setups to add more variety to your gallery.

When it came to using my giant posing beanbag, which is where the photos on blankets are taken, to start with she stayed in a deep sleep, making my life as a photographer very easy. When she did decide to wake up, she was extremely calm and gave the most beautiful expressions!

Charlotte, you were the most wonderful newborn to photograph. I hope I get to see you again the future.
