Spring is one of my favourite times of year for outdoor photo shoots.
After dreaming of being able to wear boots for so long, the longing for summer shoes returns along with the earning for longer days and the smell of cut grass. The sun starts to make a few more appearances and going out without a coat for the first time this year becomes an event.
For baby photographers, it also means it's time for outdoor sessions to begin again!
Along with Spring comes blossom - so much beautiful blossom! Parks are filled with the most gorgeous white and pinks, and don't forget the daffodils.
In Hemel Hempstead, my favourite spot for blossom is Gadebridge Park.
Gadebridge park is a great location for photo shoots all year round. You have the white bridge, the river, the trees, the park and the walled garden. It's in Spring though that it really comes into its own.
My tree knowledge is severely lacking, but what I can tell you is that it's all very pretty! The images above were taken just as the blossom had started to fall.
I did try and take a video but typically whenever I pressed record the wind stopped!
Around this time the spring flowers are planted in the Walled Garden as well. That little garden is so perfectly looked after, it's stunning.
It's not just the big parks that get blossom though.
A few weeks ago I did two Maternity photo shoots on a football playing field in Woodhall Farm.
How can they look pretty? I hear you ask.
Well take a look and judge for yourself.
The white blossom that lined the edge of the field was simply stunning. It worked perfectly in focus, next to each lady and also blurred in the background.
I also love the yellow tree blossom used to frame the edge of the images.
Alas, spring is over for another year but that's ok because that means summer is on it's way!
Let's say goodbye to coats and hello to sunshine (hopefully!)
