Danielle's Newborn Photo Shoot

Newborn photo shoots are one of my favourite things to photograph.

Meeting new and expanding families and getting to know them is extremely special. They come to my home studio in Milton Keynes when their baby is only one week old and trust me with their most precious cargo to capture photos for them to treasure for the rest of their lives. If that’s not special, I don’t know what is.

When Danielle came for her newborn photo shoot she started asleep, woke up for photos with her mum and dad and then drifted off back to sleep.
I love backlit images like the one below (where she’s silhouetted with her mum and dad) and the photos with her dad where she is awake are just precious.

To add even more variety to Danielle’s images I added some digital backdrops to her gallery. This is where I take a photo on a fluffy or plain blanket and then photoshop a baby onto a more detailed backdrop. I have to match the lighting and the pose to make it look realistic. It’s not possible for me to own every single basket and bowl out there so these are the perfect alternative.
I’ve even had a client in the past who came to me with a digital backdrop before their photo shoot and asked me to use it, which is a great idea and showed me exactly the type of images they were looking for.

If you don’t like digital backdrops though, that’s fine. I don’t always use them and you can just let me know before your photo shoot.
