Photographing my Family | Gadebridge Park

A few months ago (if you can't already tell by the lack of coats...) my sister asked me to take some photos of her and her daughter, Rosie.

Rosie has modelled for me a million times before but I've never done a photo shoot with her mum as well.

The best thing about photographing family is that it's more like a day out rather than work.  I can try things and happily admit when they don't work and at the end you get to hang out, practice cartwheels and eat ice-cream.  (Unfortunately I was too full from ice-cream for the cartwheels otherwise obviously I would have joined in...)

I love Gadebridge Park as a location for photo shoots.  You've got the bridge and the river, the blossom in the summer and huge trees for the autumn and let's not forget all the flowers and the walled garden at the back.

It was a very sunny day so we walked around looking for little pockets of shade, as well as trying to avoid the building site while they set up for Hemel Pride.

I have the worst luck with taking photos in the walled gardens.  I've lost count of the amount of times I've gone there and it's either being re-planted or been closed for watering.
We lucked out on this day though because not only was it open - the flower beds were in full bloom and it was gorgeous!
