When Noah and his family arrived, we started with some simple parent photos.
You do not have to hold a naked baby if you're not interested in playing 'pee roulette'. Instead we can use a nice neutral blanket (or colourful, it's your choice!) and wrap your little one up nice and snug.
Thank you SO MUCH to all the lovely families that have put their faith in me to capture images of their bumps, newborns and babies over the last year. I've met some amazing people, some of which have become good friends and I can't wait to continue photographing your families into the future.Read More
There are three main exciting stages to my job.
Number 1 - I get to hug/play with babies (you know, and photograph them...)
Number 2 - I show parents their images and see their reactions at their Reveal Session.
Number 3 - I hand wrap and deliver their products, which according to a lot of my clients, is a lot like Christmas!
Here are some of my latest orders, all carefully packaged and hand delivered to their new homes.Read More
There's nothing quite like halloween for an excuse to dress your baby up in something ridiculously cute.
(If you feel like you don't need an excuse, high five to you, my sentiments exactly)
If you're not the type of person to spend hours sticking and appliquéing (see, I did remember something from GCSE Textiles) then check out these options that you can pick up during your weekly shop.
Rhea's family first got in touch when she was 2 weeks old.
As newborn shoots usually take place in a babies first 5 - 10 days, I booked them in nice and quickly so we could capture all those tiny details before she grew too much.
There was no need to worry about her being more alert though - she was the perfect sleepy baby for the majority of her photo shoot!
I have people travel to me from all over Herts, Beds & Bucks with their newborns, but when Rhea's dad got in touch, I realised they only lived a few streets away - nice and easy!Read More
I meet new people weekly. I get to know them and I watch their family grow.
I get to capture moments in time that families can look back on and enjoy forever.
I cuddle newborns, I sing with babies, I make tea for tired and emotional mums.
I get to edit in my pyjamas!Read More
When you first find out you're pregnant it feels like you have all the time in the world. You're careful not to start buying things too early (you know, apart from that little outfit that you just couldn't leave behind) and you wait longingly for each scan to see that little face one more time and the reassurance that everything is a-ok.Read More
Emily is one of the smiliest 2 month olds I have ever photographed!
All I had to do was speak to her and she'd break out into the most gorgeous smile. Her face was full of expression the entire photo shoot.Read More
Little Ava came to me for her newborn photo shoot from Leighton Buzzard when she was 10 days old.
She had the most gorgeous eyes, which we got to see a lot because she outright refused to sleep!Read More
This year I held Summer Mini Photo Shoots in Hemel Hempstead on the Nickey Line.
I call them 'summer', but I actually got so busy with Newborn shoots in the Spring that they ended up taking place on the last two weeks of August (whoops).
Thankfully we completely lucked out on the weather and had beautiful sunshine on both days (similar to last year so maybe they're lucky!)
As a newborn and baby photographer, I have to take the safety of my little clients very seriously. It might surprise you to know that the newborn photography industry is completely unregulated. Photographers like me, who take safety seriously, have to take it upon ourselves to be trained and educated on how to ensure the beautiful images we create, are done safely.Read More
Ah, that special moment after weeks of encouragement when your little one starts to move around the house by themselves - a little uncoordinated and cute at first but then suddenly, those arms and legs are propelling them at the speed of light.
It is soon after this joy and love for their accomplishment that you realise just how many pointy edges and slammable doors there are around the house.Read More
September is Baby Safety Month, which is a great reminder to make sure your knowledge is up to scratch should you ever need to save a child's life.
It is easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of choice there is but remember;
Any course is better than no course at all.Read More
When Madison arrived for her Newborn Photo Shoot the first thing I noticed was her amazing hair!
With her mum being a hair dresser, it made those luscious locks even more perfect.
While we were getting to ready to start with family photos, we talked about the risks of getting pee'd and poo'd on when handling a naked baby. Madison's mum and I were wearing matching white tops (thank you Asda) which are lovely tops for photos but are a little risky around a tiny naked bum.Read More
Beside the usual cat videos, over the last few years the world has been taken by storm by children watching other children open and play with toys, adults acting out scenes with toys (yes, this is apparently acceptable) and tweenagers falling in love with YouTubers just like we did with pop stars.
If you think youtube is just for children and weirdoes though, you are very wrong!
Mum (and dad!) vloggers are taking to YouTube in force, sharing the ups and downs of pregnancy, children and family life.
And when I say ups and downs, I mean it.Read More
And just like that, little miss Harper turns 1.
Back in 2016 I met Harper and her family for her newborn photo shoot.
She was tiny little bundle of sleepiness, who slept like a dream, snuggled in the cosiness of her mum and dad's gorgeous house. See how tiny she is in her dad's arms? Well stick around...Read More
